The CDC recommends reaching out to your doctor if you suspect you have COVID-19 in order to assess next steps.
If quarantined at home, keep in regular communication with your doctor. You may need to check your blood sugar levels more often, and/or adjust medications. It is also important to stay hydrated.
Because you are at a higher risk of serious complications from COVID-19, it is important you isolate yourself and contact your health care provider immediately if you have symptoms such as:
- Loss of smell or taste
- Hard time breathing
Call 911 if you have a medical emergency. Tell the 911 operator that you have, or need to be tested for COVID-19. If possible, put on a face mask before emergency medical services arrive.
