If you are able to do so, it is important to maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle. This includes eating well and cooking with healthy, shelf-stable ingredients. It also includes keeping your heart fit with a home exercise routine like a circuit workout where you select 3 or 4 exercises like jumping jacks, lunges or jogging in place (consult with your health care provider before starting any new exercise). It’s also important to reduce stress as much as possible.
